10 Days & 9 Nights Costa Rica Girl Scouts Vacation:

Day 1: Arrive to Costa Rica. Your driver will be waiting for you outside of the airport ready to drive your group to Arenal volcano area. On the way to the bungalows, you will stop for a break to see local fruits, and you can buy local snacks, candies, and drinks if you would like to. Also we will stop to see waterfalls by the road. A welcome dinner will be waiting for you at Tropical Paradise Bungalows. (D) (about 2 ½ hours)

Day 2: Welcome garden tour: After breakfast at the bungalows, you will then do a tour in the gardens and trails of the property to learn about medicinal plants and local crops such as pineapple and cassava or yucca, and some interesting trees like cinnamon, rubber tree and much more! (time 45 minutes)

 Rain Forest tour: Get ready to explore the rain forest jungle near one of Costa Rica’s reserves: Maquenque. During this guided walk you can get wet if you want! You will walk on a trail to a beautiful waterfall in the rainforest and also search for poison dart frogs in their natural habitat, as well as learn some tips for surviving in the jungle. This tour has different levels for everyone in the family. (time 2 hours)

Natural hot springs: After about a 10-minute walk in a transition-tropical forest on trails, you can soak and relax and enjoy the beauty of nature while sipping a drink in pools of different temperatures. This hot springs has drinks available for an extra charge, such as fruit drinks, soft drinks, piña coladas, etc. This hot springs is rustic and alongside a river in the middle of the jungle. After your time at the springs you will change into dry clothes and stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way back to the bungalows. (B, L, D) (time 2 hours)

 Day 3:  Blue Morpho Butterfly farm tour: On this interesting tour learn all about butterflies of Costa Rica and their life development, and see gorgeous blue morphos and others flying all around you. This is a local family business who welcome you at their property. (Time 1 ½ hours)

Waterfalls tour: Today we will visit the Twins waterfalls in Bajos del Toro.  This is a wonderful place to photograph nature and cloud forest landscapes. Swimming will be optional in a safe area. (Time 3 hours) (B, L, D)

Day 4:  A Day for massages and dancing lessons, pool time, relax time.

Today you will have the chance to take lessons to learn and practice Salsa, Merengue, & Cumbia music, plus a little Karaoke time for those that like to sing! (*Massages must be reserved a couple of days in advance please.) (B, L, D) (time massage 1 hour, Dancing 2 hours)

Day 5: Arenal volcano tour: learn the history of Arenal volcano in a small volcano museum, enjoy gorgeous views of the giant cone-shaped volcano and the lake at its base at a safe distance. (*No hiking is allowed at the base of the volcano, nor is walking up the slope allowed for safety reasons.) See the surrounding forest and watch for wild life during a walking tour, like the famous red eyed tree frog. (Time 4 hours with traveling time)

Zip line, Canopy tour: Costa Rica has some of the best Zip linings in the world! Feel the adrenalin as you glide through the treetops of the tropical forest! You will have a bird´s eye view of the flora and fauna that surround you in the rainforest. This tour generally lasts 2 hours.

This afternoon you will be in La Fortuna so you can walk in town and look at shops or just have some ice cream. (B, L, D) (time 2 hours)

Day 6: White Water Rafting: Feel your adrenalin rush as we raft down the Sarapiqui river along the edges of the tropical forest. This tour leaves at the Hacienda’s put-in and runs 13 Km to a small town called Chilamate. This fun and adventurous activity can be done year round, and no previous experience is required. Class II and III. Fun for everyone in the family. (time 2 hours)

Day 7: Travel to Manuel Antonio beach in the south Pacific. Along the way you will stop to see wild crocodiles by Tarcoles river, and pass-through oil palm plantations. This mountainous beach area has beautiful beaches and lots of wildlife to see. (*This is about a 5-hour drive plus stops) (B, D)

Day 8: Open day at the beach to relax and enjoy the sun and waves. (*Optional tours today are: surfing lessons or a Catamaran tour on the ocean with lunch, drinks and snorkeling. If interested, please let us know in advance to reserve one of these activities for you; not included in package price.) The average price per person for surf lessons is $60.00, and Catamaran tour $90.00 on average per person. (B, D)

Day 9: Open morning. Enjoy the beach. About 12pm your driver will take you to the hotel close to the airport. (time 3 hours) (B, D)

Day 10: Return home flight today. The driver will take you to the airport at your convenient time. (*Keep in mind you will be a 10 minutes’ drive to the airport). (B)
