Arenal volcano tour is for everyone in the family to enjoy the majestic views of this amazing mountain!

Walking distance: 0.2 to 4 miles you will decide how much to walk.
Age to do this tour: No minimum age.
Duration for this tour: 1 to 2 ½ hours

Description: You will start your adventure at Tropical Paradise bungalows, driving to La Fortuna town and then north of town about 20 minutes. Upon arrival to the volcano trails your guide will explain using a map the trail options for you to walk, and offer you the option of a walking stick and take a bathroom break. Then you will begin the tour on level ground learning about some agricultural products that Costa Rica produces, some medicinal plants and other interesting trees or bushes, and then learn about Arenal volcano and its history.
            Once you arrive to the edge of the forest you will begin walking up hill and little by little start climbing up steps on an old lava flow from Arenal volcano. After some breaks along the way you will come to the lookout point where you will enjoy breath taking, panoramic views of the volcano and Arenal lake.

 
     As you begin the descent you will walk through old lava fields and see orchids and moss of many kinds that have adapted and grown among the old lava. The next part of the walk is to pass along the edge of the forest near the volcano walking on a trail that goes through an area of “caña brava,” which looks quite similar to sugar cane.

Closed toed hiking shoes or tennis shoes
Mosquito Repellent
Rain poncho
