Arenal Hanging Bridges in Costa Rica

Hanging bridges offer the best protection against damage to the environment and allows you to view nature at its best. When visiting Arenal Hanging Bridges, you will be able to see vast scenic views of the tropical rain forest that spans almost six hundred acres and is located at the base of Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna, near the lagoon. The private nature preserve has eight standing bridges and six hanging or suspended bridges that were built by structural engineers using aluminum, concrete, galvanized and structural steel, providing the maximum security and comfort for all visitors. The bridges range in length from twenty-two feet to over seventy feet that are encompasses almost a mile of road between the towers.

If you arrive early in the morning around 6am you will be able to participate in a bird watching tour with a naturalist – ornithologist guide. Almost daily there are between fifty and sixty species of birds found during this two and a half hour tour. This is one of the most productive bird watching tours of the area and of Costa Rica.
